Lindsey Cole has had to deal with grief at a young age. Losing her father, when she was just 24, she threw herself into adventure, which, in her own words, is ‘the most wonderful medicine’. So far, she has walked the length of the Rabbit Proof Fence, swam the length of the river Thames and cycled from the top to the bottom of Africa.
A few weeks ago, I was thrilled to be a guest on The Postcard Academy. Sarah Mikutel and I are now podcast buddies (and, as it happens we are North London neighbours!). So I was so pleased when Sarah agreed to come on to my podcast.
Kath Swinbourne is a Australian photographer based in Wollongong, New South Wales. So far she has undertaken solo drives in her 4WD through The Flinders Ranges and The Simpson Desert. Enjoying the solitude and spectacular scenery of her homeland, she travels with her swag, camera and good coffee. She is currently planning her next (10,000km) solo trip.
Whether you're about to embark on a year long round the world trip, or just a long weekend on your own, solo travel can be daunting. I've picked some of my favourite spots (some of which were on my first ever solo backpacking trip). I hope you find it useful, and I hope it helps you decide on where to go! Happy travels! :-)
